You can create compact graphical timelines by drawing different nodes on a canvas. The nodes are connected via lines or arrows. You can save the timelines you create and you can add, edit and export the timeline. The tool is easy to learn and use. Just add the objects you need to the timeline and save. The timeline objects are represented by wxTimeLineObject objects which are directly linked to a tree view. The timeline is updated automatically when you edit the objects. The core application is a plugin of the wxWidgets timeline toolkit. It can be run in isolation. The wxTimeLineEditor core application does some heavy work. It is responsible to save all changes you make. The wxTimeLineEditor core application can be used with wxWidgets. You can run it standalone or integrate it in your application. The timeline objects are represented by wxTimeLineObjects. The wxTimeLineObject has a pointer to a class wxTimeLineObjectBase. This object is responsible to do all the drawing work. The wxTimeLineObjectBase is a virtual class and is not instantiable. Each wxTimeLineObject has a pointer to a wxTimeLineObjectBase object. This pointer is used to find the objects you need to update. All the changes you make are stored in a modified list of the objects you added or edited. When you click a button you move to the next object you added to the timeline. You can also add or remove objects by pressing the right mouse button on them. The timelines you create can be exported to XML, Gexf, Dxf and other formats. The application can be used on all desktop systems that support GTK+3 (but you need to compile it yourself) and Qt4 (see binary package for latest Qt version). It also works fine on Mac OSX. The Windows version (C++/Qt) needs the appropriate version of wxWidgets to be installed. The Qt5 GUI version is in progress. Selecting edges of all types - Bezier curves, lines, radials, arcs, etc. - Edges are selectable either by clicking and dragging, or by pressing spacebar - Every edge you select will have a highlighted border around it Editing markers - Line, circle, triangle, star, cross, arrow, rectangle, ellipse, hexagon - Color and size can be changed - Highlight and unhighlight markers with single keystroke Tracking multiple edges - Tracked by default is only one edge at the time. - However, if you keep track of several edges at once with a single keystroke, you can manipulate them all simultaneously. - To make that keystroke work, click the main window's foreground track, and hold the key for a few seconds. Create events - If you want to start or stop an event, go to the event properties window and double click the event - Events can be created in different ways (only one way is used at the moment): - click on the event's "start" button, enter a specific time, and click the "start" button again - click on the event's "stop" button, enter a specific time, and click the "stop" button again - when you want to have a selected range of events or all events you use "select all" - events can be edited by double clicking the event Creating new events - You can add new events manually in the "create event" window by double clicking the event you want to add. - New events can also be added using a keystroke: Press "n" to select all events, and press "a" to add an event. Creating animations - Animations are a sequence of events. - You can create an animation by double clicking on the animation's "start" button. - You can add a keyframe by double clicking on the animation's "start" button, and entering the time you want to enter on the animation timeline. - You can add more keyframes by double clicking on the animation's "start" button, and entering the time you want to enter on the animation timeline. Editing animations - Edit an animation by double clicking on the animation's "start" button. - You can What's New in the?
